Intro[]

The story has begun! Concerned about the future of the country, as well as his own importance to the world, Boston bartender Vinny Howell decides to start his own research organization dedicated to exposing the truths of the supernatural, as well as the alleged shadow government running the world from behind the scenes. Teaming up with fellow enthusiast Sasha Belanger, Vinny has his work cut out for him if he ever hopes to resurrect the spirit of SEVENTH CIRCLE…

Plot[]

Four days after establishing their partnership, Vinny meets Sasha at the latter's apartment, where he tells her that he was contacted by Allegro, the mysterious founder of paraGhost, regarding his threads about starting a paranormal investigation team. Sasha is excited, but wary about disrupting her studies; Vinny assures her that they will start by investigating cases in Boston, and her normal life will not be affected.

At the Inferno Club, Vinny chats with a regular, Cassie, who he apparently has feelings for. A political science major, Cassie brings up the general chaos at Boston University following the election of Donald Trump. Vinny considers how Cassie would feel about his new team, and wonders whether Sasha's boyfriend, Greg, would join them, though Vinny apparently suspects that Greg is abusive to Sasha.

Over dinner at their cheap apartment, Sasha brings up Vinny to Greg, telling him about their potential partnership. Greg is hesitant – not knowing or trusting Vinny – and Sasha resents his protectiveness, though she tries to convince him not to worry.

Days later, Allegro tells Vinny to meet him in Ticonderoga, New York: a town Vinny is already familiar with, due to his interest in American history. Vinny calls Sasha about this new development and they debate when and how they will get to Ticonderoga; Sasha begrudgingly realizes that Greg can drive them. On his walk home, Vinny considers naming their team Seventh Circle, or some variation thereupon, for the first time.

Two days later, Vinny, Sasha, and Greg depart for Ticonderoga in the latter's cramped pickup truck. They stop for breakfast and gas in Salem, Massachusetts, where Sasha is pulled from her resentment at Greg's presence by interest in the local history. Greg probes Vinny for hidden motives, and Vinny assures him that he and Sasha just want to work towards exposing the supernatural. Noting his overprotectiveness, Vinny offers to let Greg join them on later trips, and Greg seems to consider it.

In Ticonderoga, Allegro – now confirmed to be a man – looks through Vinny's Facebook page as he awaits their arrival. Allegro feels some excitement at this development, and it is revealed that his mission is to resurrect Seventh Circle.

Continuity[]

  • Ignition: Part II sees the first appearance of the Inferno Club in Seventh Circle. The Inferno Club previously appeared in Erogrendel, as the main drinking spot of Detective Isaac Parry.
    • Vinny appeared in a brief role in Erogrendel, as the bartender of the Inferno Club who chats with Parry and tries to pry into the death of Scott Roby
      • This scene in Erogrendel marks the moment when Vinny first heard about Seventh Circle, from Parry, who was being harassed about Roby's death by Kurt Bachman and Mark Tenant.[2]
