Greg Lopez[1] is a major character in Nathaniel J. Nelson's serial Seventh Circle. The boyfriend and roommate of Sasha Belanger, Greg appears generally taciturn, though he grows angry when he believes Sasha may be in danger.

Description[]

Greg is Hispanic and extremely muscular, consuming large amounts of food to maintain his physique. He is a talented cook, and often makes lavish dinner for he and Sasha, despite their poor living circumstances. He enjoys wine, and is a fan of Game of Thrones, which he watches along with Sasha. Although he apparently doesn't believe in the paranormal or any conspiracy theories, Greg humors Sasha, which she apparently finds patronizing. In Ignition: Part II, it is mentioned that Greg isn't interested in the paranormal or politics, while Sasha isn't interested in food: according to Vinny, this makes them "oh for three on compatibility."

In Ignition: Part III, Greg is seen to take somewhat of an interest in Sasha's field, despite not believing in the paranormal. He engages in Sasha and Vinny's discussion, bringing up possibly-paranormal serial killers El Fantasma and Mackenzie Weaver, surprising Sasha with his retention. Similarly, on the drive to Ticonderoga, Sasha informs Greg on the mythos of the Halloween franchise, as he apparently takes an interest in whatever Sasha enjoys.

Biography[]

Ignition[]

Greg is first seen picking up Sasha from her unnamed paranormal enthusiasts' group. Vinny recognizes him from this common scenario, but has never spoken to him. When Sasha comes in to the group with a black eye, claiming to have walked into a door, Vinny apparently begins to suspect Greg of hitting her, though he doesn't say it aloud.

In Ignition: Part II, when Sasha tells Greg that she will be pursuing paranormal investigation with her friend from the group, Greg is hesitant, thinking she may get into trouble, but he relents and humors her, which annoys Sasha, who hadn't been asking for his permission. When Vinny and Sasha determine the best way to get to Ticonderoga would be by car, Sasha begrudgingly asks Greg to drive them: Vinny doesn't have his driver's license, and Sasha doesn't have a car. Greg agrees, though he pulls Vinny aside to ensure that their team isn't some sort of radical political movement.

Greg is given his first point of view section in Ignition: Part III, in which he drops off Vinny and Sasha at Fort Ticonderoga, and sits to watch them leave out of concern for the latter. An unknown man jumps into Greg's truck, hijacking it, but when Greg reappears at the end of the episode, no mention is made of this.
